Abu Dhabi final day

Julian sadly had to work today so we ventured out unaccompanied to visit the Grand Mosque. See pictures.
Sheikh Sayed Grand Mosque
Stunning, awesome, bewildering, OTT, Excessive; choose your own adjective. The guide was entertaining too and open to any questions about the mosque or Muslim beliefs. Fo hadn't realised that her arms had to be completely covered so ending up wearing a full length polyester burka. It was over 40c outside so she really suffered.

Crystal and gold chandlier. It weighs 12 tonnes.
We had lunch again at Jones the Grocer before heading back to Julian's place to await our car to the airport.

Overall impression of the Emirates? They’re an amazing and confusing place to visit, if you have money. Would I visit again? Probably not. Would I work here? Probably yes, if paid enough. Would I live here? Absolutely not - my shades kept steaming up. Oh... and I nearly forgot to mention, they really, really love to shop here.
